# Importing trial balance

### Importing Financial Data

1. At group level, navigate to `Procedures` using the navigation menu. Open the procedure `Analytical review` and then open the procedure step `Initial Classification of Financial Items`.

The first activity asks whether you can import the trial balance.
2. Go to `Sources` in the top-right corner, publish the document request, and upload the document containing the trial balance, if this has not yet been done.
3. Once the document has been added to the engagement, navigate back to the `Recording` tab.

You can import the trial balance by clicking the `Play` button and selecting `Ingest Trial Balance.` .

   > To support the automatic mapping of general ledger accounts to financial statement line items, you can enter patterns for balance sheet general ledger accounts and profit and loss general ledger accounts. These are the numbers with which the balance sheet accounts or profit and loss accounts begin. The numbers should be separated by a space.
5. If you want to import financial data for multiple audit units, this is also possible. Click the `Play` button again and import the financial data from the same document, but select a different audit unit, year and a different column.
6. Engyon automatically suggests mappings from general ledger accounts to financial statement line items.

To confirm these suggestions and make changes where needed, navigate to the audit unit for which the financial data has been imported. Click the group icon and select the component for which you want to map the general ledger accounts.

    For example, under `Other Operating Expenses`, drag `Office Expenses` to the subgroup `Office Expenses`.

> It is also possible to unlink a general ledger account from a financial statement line item by dragging it back to the right-hand panel. From there, the account can be dragged to the desired line item. This is especially useful when an account has been mapped to a line item that is positioned far away from the correct line item.
