# Module 5: Importing Financial Data, Scoping and Materiality

Engyon supports the import of trial balances, financial statements, and consolidation schedules. The imported financial data is used throughout the application, for example in the `Scoping Matrix` and in the `Lead Schedules` for financial statement line items.

Materiality can be documented in the audit and compared against the imported financial data. It can then be used to plan and perform audit procedures.

In this module, we will import trial balances, document materiality, and use this information to perform the initial scoping within the engagement.

> Financial statements and consolidation schedules can be imported in a similar way as trial balances.

### Importing Financial Data

1. Set the file to group level (see *Group File* in [*Module 2: Group File*](/engyon/training/training-english/module-2-group-audits.md) for instructions on how to navigate within a group file), go to *Work `Procedures`* (in the navigation bar) and click on the procedure `General` under `Execution`, then open the procedure `Audit of Consolidation`. A source request is linked to this procedure.
2. Go to `Sources` in the top-right corner, publish the source request `Consolidation schedule`, and upload the document containing the consolidation statement (see the download link for this file below), if this has not yet been done. \

3. Once the document has been added to the engagement, navigate back to the `Recording` tab. “(Click the file name *‘Consolidatiestaat Fictiva Holding.xlsx’*. Here you can import the consolidation statement by clicking the play button and then selecting *Ingest financial statement*)”\
   \
   ![](/files/1bvpCdQKfY0rukoaktYZ)
4. Configure the import of the consolidation schedule by mapping the columns. To do this, open the arrow besides the text `Advanced` to link the Financial Statement Lines (annual accounts name) column with the 'Jaarrekeningpost' column in the consolidation schedule. You may leave the *RGS Code* column empty.
*RGS stands for ‘Referentie Grootboek Schema’ (Reference Chart of Accounts) and is a standardized chart of accounts. The consolidation statement of Fictiva does not contain these RGS codes, so you can leave the RGS field empty here.*

6. Then map the remaining columns as well:\
7. Record the figures by clicking `Ingest`. Next, 108 amounts will be imported because the structure of the items matches the template.
8. Go to the `Checks` screen to review the imported figures. In this screen, you can see the totals per line item so you can compare them with the consolidation schedule. You can also see the sum of the asset and liability items, allowing you to verify whether they are equal.
9. Then click `Scoping` in the navigation bar to view the imported figures.
10. When you want to add subcategories to Financial Statement lines (such as different revenue streams under revenue), go to `Settings` and `Annual accounts` then click the **+** sign `Add child general ledger account group` on the right of the relevant line.\
    When you have imported financial data via a consolidation schedule (as in this training), you cannot numerically allocate the total of the financial statement line to the subcategories. However, you can assign risks and procedures specifically to the subcategories.

### Materiality

1. Navigate back to group level by clicking the network icon and selecting `Fictiva Holding Group`.
2. Go to `Procedures` and open the `Materiality` procedure. Then open the procedure step `Determining Materiality, Performance Materiality and Clearly Trivial Misstatements`.
3. Complete the first activity by clicking `Main Materiality` under `Context-Specific Information` on the left-hand side.

```
4. Enter the materiality amounts in the modal that opens:
5. a. Overall Materiality: `7,000,000`\
   b. Performance Materiality: `5,000,000`\
   c. You can also open the materiality `calculation` option to perform the calculation within Engyon.
6. If needed, add an additional materiality that applies to (a) specific financial statement line(s). To do this, click the `+ Materiality` button in the top-right corner of the procedure `Determine materiality, performance materiality and clearly trivial misstatements`, or go to *Settings* → *Materiality* → *+ Materiality*. Enter the figures that apply to the selected financial statement line(s).
### Scoping
1. Navigate to the `Scope` page using the navigation menu. This page is only visible at group level. The page shows the financial data per financial statement line item (rows) and per component and, if imported, eliminations (columns). For each cell, bold green text indicates whether the data exceeds materiality.
2. Click several rectangles for financial statement line items and audit units shown in bold green to bring them `In Scope`.
3. Then click the antenna icon to automatically add general procedures to the financial statement line items that have been brought in scope. In the modal that opens, confirm the selection on both 'group level' and 'component level'. The general procedures will now be created separately for each component.
