# Resetting a user and restoring MFA

Reset MFA for a client user or auditor via Options → Organisation.

When someone no longer has access to the authenticator app, you reset the MFA from that user's organisation. After that, the person can log in again and set up MFA.

### Client user

1. Go to <kbd>Options</kbd> → <kbd>Organisation</kbd> → <kbd>clients</kbd>.
2. Open the client the client user belongs to.
3. Open the <kbd>users</kbd> tab.
4. In the <kbd>MFA</kbd> column, click on the checkmark.
5. Click on <kbd>Reset MFA</kbd>.

You need <kbd>Client admin</kbd> for this on that client. <kbd>client manager</kbd> sees the <kbd>MFA</kbd> column, but no reset. Ask a colleague who is <kbd>Client admin</kbd>, or have yourself assigned that role.

### Auditor

1. Go to <kbd>Options</kbd> → <kbd>Organisation</kbd> → <kbd>users</kbd>.
2. In the <kbd>MFA</kbd> column, click on the checkmark.
3. Click on <kbd>Reset MFA</kbd>.

You need <kbd>Admin</kbd> for this on the audit firm.

{% hint style="info" %}
Only use this action when a user no longer has access to the existing MFA setting or gets stuck during login.
{% endhint %}
